Mikala Hammonds has opened successful retail stores in New York City and in Concord, Massachusetts. With a background in graphic design and a certification as a holistic health coach from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, her ability to create a unique, warm and purposeful experience is exceptional. Mikala is the daughter of a preacher from Lubbock, Texas, provoking the carefully selected name THELō, meaning: to want, to desire, to be determined.
Chef Jerome Picca is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and has 45 years of experience in the field of professional cooking. After graduating from culinary school, Jerome moved to New Orleans where he mentored under famed chef, Susan Spicer and Daniel Bonnot. He has taught at The Culinary School of Washington, D.C., University of Maryland Center for Adult Education, and developed & taught the Explo Culinary Arts Focus Program at Wellesley College. “I love teaching, educating, and mentoring particularly in the areas of food health & nutrition”.
Chef Jerome previously owned The Seasoned Chef Catering and Restaurant company, and with his wife, Stephanie, opened both Small Plates Restaurant, Tapas, and Wine Bar in Harvard Square, and Mighty Love Food in Boston’s Financial District. Born in Sri-Lanka and raised in England, Jerome enjoys cuisines from around the world. His love for Cajun & Creole food is only now surpassed by his heightened interest in food health & nutrition. Educating, coaching, and mentoring students interested in food health and nutrition are Chef Jerome’s passions.
